The Calypso Height-Adjustable Bath and Shower Chair allows a single caregiver to perform all the tasks of patient bathing safely and ensures the entire process is as convenient, comfortable, and dignified as possible for both caregiver and patient. Patients can be transferred to and from the chair on either side; the backrests on either arm double as handholds. Both arms swing out of the way independently for more convenient transitions in and out of the chair and easier caregiver access when bathing. The low, wide chassis is designed to slide smoothly under most beds without sacrificing stability and makes lateral transfers safer and easier.

The seat of the chair can be made of either classic, easy-to-clean vinyl, or the new PUR material, constructed seamlessly out of soft, comfortable, easy-to-clean polyurethane. A convenient hygiene opening in both seat options make the chair compatible with toileting as well as bathing, enhancing functional versatility. For more mobile patients who can sit on their own, both ergonomically-designed seats feature rounded edges that smooth the transition and five patients more control over the lowering movement.

Caregivers will appreciate the comfortable control the soft-grip handles provide, allowing them to precisely position the patient where needed. The raising, lowering, and central braking functions are controlled via a handheld remote with clearly labeled buttons; to keep caregivers comfortably close to their patients, the cord connecting the remote to the mast is long and flexible. Patients are reassured when their caregiver is closer to them, and the proximity means caregivers are always able to stabilize patients and act quickly in case of an emergency.

An optional integrated scale system allows caregivers to take the patient's weight measurement without having to transfer them to a separate weighing device. A safety belt that comfortable secures the patient to the seat is also available as an optional accessory designed to both stabilize and reassure the patient during movement. Two batteries are included, allowing one to be used while the other is charging and ensuring that the Calypso is always at the ready when it's needed.
