The Omega Max Splinting Thermoplastics are available in two thicknesses with smooth or perforated textures and are ideal for a range of versatile splinting applications. These thermoplastics are highly conformable with moderate to maximum drape to create a close conforming fit that provides an excellent reproduction of detail. Moderate resistance to stretch allows moderate to aggressive handling with no adverse effect, allowing it to be easily applied and re-molded. 100% memory makes it ideal for serial splinting.
This thermoplastic material includes a unique powder coating that gives it a slightly tacky surface to hold the material in place without pulling or falling away. A wet bond holds firmly but can be pulled apart when cool, while the application of minimal solvent and dry heat to form a strong, permanent bond. The surface finish is smooth and glossy and allow fingerprints and other surface marks disappear as the material cools. When cut while warm it forms smooth, sealed edges.
The Omega Max Splinting Thermoplastics are available in or 3/32 thicknesses. The thermoplastic is ideal for hand and wrist splints, back supports, anti-spasticity splints, lower extremity positioning splints, serial static splints and bases for dynamic splints, and the 3/32 thermoplastic is perfect for dynamic splint bases and pediatric splints made from this thermoplastic have excellent conformability to hold against strong hypertonicity.
